“No Escape” reflects my struggle with autonomy and resistance to external pressures. In this piece, I depict myself being pulled in multiple directions—what appear to be unseen forces are, in reality, my own hands. They symbolize the tension between striving for control and feeling bound by expectations. In my expression, I sought to capture both defiance and vulnerability, embodying the struggle of maintaining agency—specifically in regards to identity and power, as a woman of color navigating medicine.
