Alicia is very passionate about spreading Medical Humanities with the Rice and TMC community and is excited to lead the 2025 editorial team. In her free time, she likes to dance on the Rice Owls Dance Team, spend time with her friends, and listen to music.

Adrien is a licensed paramedic that is passionate about emergency medicine and the intersections of science and the humanities. He currently works with Harris Health and Rice University EMS. He designs medical training curricula and incorporates patient narratives into emergency medicine training.
Carmen Ulizio • Editor • Biosciences, Medical Humanities ’27
Carmen Ulizio enthusiastically studies Biosciences and Medical Humanities. Carmen is interested in bridging the gap between the scientific world and the subjective human experience of medicine and is excited to help others do the same.

Caroline is excited about bioethics and combining visual art with medicine. She enjoys painting, traveling, and exploring new restaurants. She can’t wait to see the future of the journal and the boundaries it continues to push.

Kirra is interested in art’s capability to transform health narratives and discussions. She believes that art has the power to heal and bring people together. Her hobbies include crochet, painting, drawing, playing video games, and making jewelry. She loves seeing the different perspectives that journal submissions bring to light.

Muna Nnamani is an English major with a minor in Global Health Technologies and a pre-medicine track. Medical Humanities is important to her because it combines her two favorite points of study: biology and literature.

Nayounghee is empowered by creativity and community. She has a deep passion for medicine and hopes to pursue a career in surgery while exploring humanities within healthcare. She enjoys crafting, thrifting, visiting farmers markets and new cafes or bakeries in her free time.
